Al Narcyznski 152
We had two
people go 5 for 6 on this weeks mystery driver question,
good enough to get an "atta boy" from the entire LVC staff,
as both of us applauded the efforts of Doug Olds, who got
all 5 competitors correct but whiffed on the
division, saying medium block instead of the correct small
block & Steve Fifield, who bagged everything but the shoe of
the #6 car.

|
 |
Karl Barnes
Mystery Driver #63
While we had a few "close but no cigars" guesses this week
in Jason Barnes, the pilot of the #307 was none other than
sibling to Jason, Karl Barnes.
Those who were sharp in correctly guessing were:
Steve Fifield
Stephen Forward
Bert Poland, who after whiffing on the Mike Ehring/Moon
Potter MD, is now 50/50 with educated guesses,
& Lenny Fields, Jr. |
 |
Gene Bergin
Mystery Driver #64
Dave Blake was the only correct answer this week. |
 |

Stone Mystery Driver #65

Mitch Poole
Arnie Ainsworth |
 |
Larry
Faulkner Sr. Mystery Driver #66
Only two correctly informed us that last weeks MD was Larry
Faulkner Sr. They were:
Russ Blake
Tim Mooney, who after looking over the evidence, the LVC
staff (2) has stripped Tim of his honor this week because of
the inside info he has, being the son in law to car owner
Bob Bingham and all!

Bill Salamacha
Mystery Driver #75
Russ Blake
John Gallant Jr.
Dickie McKie who guessed "either John Downes or Bill
Salamacha". We give him half credit this week, but
this method of guessing is not condoned by the entire LVC
staff (2). We have a firm "1 guess rule only" in place and
all violators will be dealt with harshly and swiftly.
and Sammy Barlow, who needed to use his internet interpreter
Bill C. to convey the message, since Sammy currently is Hard
Drive Handicapped. |
 |
Tom Gage
Mystery Driver #76
Last week was a
tough one, but we had three step up to the plate and knock it
home.
They were:
Dickie McKie
Rick MacDowell

|
 |
Postcard
Mystery Drivers #77
Hard to believe the only one person got last weeks easy
mystery driver correct, was the infamous Bill Chuckta, who's
correctly replied with, "This is The BEST OF THE BEST. Hand
built cars, garage motors, no power steering. These Guys
were great". Congrats on winning an all expense paid cruise
with Miss LVC Bill. (flight, room, taxes, meals and
medications not included).
|
 |

Quite a few correctly guessed Harold Montanye behind the
wheel of the purple coach, and they were:
Arnie Ainsworth
Tim Mooney
Dave Gunther
Dickie McKie
Rick McDowell
Dale Weeks
& Russ Blake, who scoffed at the ease of this weeks MD, and
challenged anybody to come up with the name of the chap
behind the #117. |

|
 |
Bill Gurney
Mystery Driver #89
This
MD proved difficult as we had quite a few guesses, but only
those of
Russ Blake
Bill Chuckta
Tim Mooney
and Jim Farren
were astute enough LVC visitors to correctly guess Bill
Gurney.
and
Aintgotime4this? was
overlooked. We've heard he is pretty astute as well. |
 |
Bill
Schroeder Mystery Driver #90
Great job by the LVC crowd who correctly identified Bill
Schroeder as this weeks mystery driver, they were:
Bill Chuckta
Rick MacDowell
Dale Weeks
Mike Visconti
Dickie McKie
John Gallant
Denny Young |
 |
Bob Tauscher
Mystery Driver #91
This weeks MD was meant to be a trick question, as most will
associate the #03 with Maynard Forrette, but we couldn't
fool:
Sammy Barlow, via his computer interpretor Bill Chuckta
Former speed shop owner Gary Cross
and Jim Farren
who correctly identified this weeks MD as Bob Tauscher.
Good job fellas. |
 |
Clyde Smith
Mystery Driver #92
Last weeks MD contest winners were:
"Terrible" Ted White
"The Silver Fox" Russ Blake
Sammy Barlow, once again through his interpretor, Bill

Bill Chuckta, w/ no help from Sammy B.
Mrs. Dickie McKie, who corrected Dick's original guess of
"Jeff Overrocker"
John Gallant Jr.

John Buehler
Mystery Driver #97
Russ Blake
John Harper
Tim Mooney
& Bill Chuctka correctly guessing John Buehler as the pilot of
the #77. |
 |
Ron Croce
Mystery Driver #98
Hard to believe we
accidentally left this weeks MD's name on the roof, yet only
3 all stars correctly identified the pilot as Ron Croce.
They were:
Tricky Rick Moffett
John Harper
& Bert Poland |
 |
Brian Kerk
Mystery Driver #99
Doug Olds
Mark Couser
"Tricky" Ricky Moffett
Orv Humes
John Harper and Sammy Barlow were sharp enough to figure out
that was Brian Kerk in the 74K.
|
 |
Mystery
Driver #100 is still a mystery. But the #70 owner was Bernie
Darling. |
 |
Eddie Webb
Mystery Driver #101
I figured this MD
was going to throw a few people off thinking it was Jeff
Yasinsac, but 2.33 percent of the people got it correct.
They were:
Sammy Barlow who has now, according to "Friend" Bill Chuckta
, admitted his crush on Miss LVC.
"Big Time" Bert Poland
and Mike Visconti, who said it had to be either, "Jeff
Yasinsac, Dan Bublak or Eddie Webb", hence collecting a .33%
point for his guess.
|
 |
“Big Daddy” Bruce Berger #26 & John Hotchkiss #123
Mystery Drivers
#102 & 103
We had a few guesses for
this weeks MD, and they went as follows:
John Harper, correctly guessed Bruce Berger in the #26 and
John Hotchkiss in the #123.
John Gallant Jr., correctly guessed Bruce Berger in the #26
and John Hotchkiss in the #123.
"Big Time" Bert Poland however would have been closer if he
tried to hit the sun with a baseball than his guesses, which
will remain in a vault to be protected by the LVC staff
(2). We however, do give him 100% credit for a right
answer by quoting a line from "Cheers" in his reply, nice
save and way to get out there and earn it Bert. |
 |
Mark Gauger Mystery Driver #104
Fresh out
of MD worthy pics.
I had my doubts anybody could possibly guess this weeks MD,
but John Gallant jr. stepped up to the plate and correctly
identified the driver of the #112 as Mark Gauger. John
really went out on a limb to impress Miss LVC by somehow
identifying Art Visconti's #61 in the background. |
 |
Jerry Townley Mystery Driver #105
We took it easy on you guys this week, the LVC staff can't
believe we didn't have more correct answers for Jerry
Townley in the 32.
Those who correctly guessed the 32 were:
Mitch Poole, Tim Mooney, Dickie McKie, Handy John Harper and
John Gallant Jr..
However, the real trivia was whose undercarriage was next to
Townley. One Man took a chance in guessing at an exhaust
system , and that winning man gets the LVC "AttaBoy" for the
week and a 5 star medal. One, Mr. Aintgotime4this
analyzed that, while he knew he was there this night, he
doesn't exactly remember this event, but is sure that around
this time frame, a one Ronnie Van Etten took a tumble coming
out of turn 2, thus going out on a limb and venturing an
educated guess that it was He.
Mr. Time4this will be rewarded with a whip cream bikini shot
of Miss LVC. You're a lucky man Aintgot. |
 |
Ralph Oliver Mystery Driver #106
Two weeks as the
Mystery Driver, and two correct guesses.
Tim Mooney
Arnie Ainsworth |
 |
John G. Wolfe Mystery Driver #107
Our LVC crowd came out in
droves and had a field day with this weeks MD, John G.
Wolfe. The correct contestants were:
John Harper, Arnie Ainsworth, Tim Mooney, Mike Visconti,
Aintgotime4this, Russ Blake, John Gallant Jr., Larry
Faulkner Jr.,
Dickie McKie, Gary Cross, who sold him the tobias chassis,
"Big Time" Bert Poland, Dale Weeks, incredibly enough,
& old LVC favorite, Denny Young. |
 |
Buzz Hankey Mystery Driver #108
Only 2
sharp eyed LVC visitors got this weeks MD Buzz Hankey
correct this week, they are:
Dickie McKie & Rick MacDowell.
|
 |
Angelo Pezzie Mystery Driver #109
Our LVC crowd must have
been on vacation for the two weeks we had Angelo as a
Mystery Driver. No one even ventured a guess. |
 |
Mystery Driver #110
Our LVC crowd and staff,
have no idea. Do you?
Tell
Hotrod if you do. |
 |
Ron Miller Mystery Driver #111
We had a few stabs at
this weeks MD, but the LVC staff (2) has seemed to stump the
crowd again.
|
 |
Tag Brod Mystery Driver #112
We
thought this MD was going to throw a few people off,
and we were correct. We had many guesses come flowing in,
but only Gary Cross and LVC friend Bill C. correctly
identified the #37 as Tag Brod.
This weeks MD is pretty much a 2 parter, as this is the team
cat to the Tag Brod #37.
|
 |
Walt Quell
Mystery Driver #113
Like Tag Brod, we thought
this MD was going to throw a few people and it did.
It didn't throw
Dick McKie and Sam Barlow though, they knew it was Walt. |
 |
Scott Bachetti Mystery Driver #114
A good score of LVC regulars picked up on this weeks MD
being none other than Scott Bachetti out of Sheffield, MA.
Those earing "Atta Boys" from Miss LVC are:
Bill Chuckta and Sammy Barlow, Who was fresh off a hot date
with Ms. LVC after being jilted on last weeks MD contest.
Mitch Lester
John Gallant
Orville Humes.
|
 |
Ernie and William Albright Mystery Driver #115
We caused quite a stir this week
with our Mystery Drivers, as the owner of the pictures Arnie
Ainsworth tagged the photos as being brothers Ernie in the
834 and William Albright in the 835. Problem was we kept
getting flooded with Chuck Irving as the driver. Nobody
doubted the Albright bros. owned the cars, so the staff at
LVC (2) dug deep and investigated the situation at hand.
Basically, we went back and asked Arnie how sure he was
about the picture, and he said he spoke with William
Albright and he clarified that it indeed was the two said
brothers in the car
this particular year.
Later on in 1970 they hired Chuck Irving to drive the #834
as a teammate to Schooch Schoonmaker in the #84 car.
So in this season of giving, we'll give credit to those who
said Chuck Irving.
"Terrible" Ted White
John Harper
aintgotime4this, who had just enough time to help out
tremendously in the research of the drivers
Russ Blake
Sammy Barlow
Denny Young
Dickie McKie
Mitch Lester
Gary Cross |
 |
John Ryan Mystery Driver #116
We had quite a few
guesses this weeks driver John Ryan, while a few got it
correct, more leaned towards the CT Yankee Denny Soltis,
which was incorrect.
Correct were:
Denny Young
Russ Blake
Gary Cross
|
 |
Lyle Jelley Mystery Driver #117
Those who guessed
Lyle Jelley correctly this week were:
Russ Blake
Denny Young
aintgotime4this
Gary Cross.
John
Harper tried to pull a fast one on the staff of LVC (2) but
naming two Jelley's in hopes of being right, and had the
gumption to suggest we give him props on the right one. We
didn't crawl out from underneath Miss LVC yesterday Harp.
If I suggested to start on the pole, would you put there
