The Back Story:

As the time stamp on the photo indicates, it’s April, 1972, the pits are filling up in what may be possibly opening night at Lebanon Valley Speedway.  The picture isn’t of the greatest quality, but gives a fantastic perspective of the eagerness the fans in the grandstands had back then for the nights racing action as the haulers wheel in the evening’s competitors, who will do battle shortly.  It was really the valley’s glory days as 50 to 60 modifieds would show up every night vying for one of the nights 24 starting spots,  along with a strong field of sportsman and mini-stocks.  We can still hear Uncle Art chattering, “Two ta Go, Two ta Go Two ta Go”.
