The Back Story:

Top: A nice shot of the Van Allen expert car at speed

Second: Posting this picture of some good looking street stocks from the early days of the division, when many teams didn’t put much effort into the appearance of their cars, mostly for budgetary purposes. Ken Van Allen in the #711, Neil Van Allen in the #171, and Tom Gersh in the #117. If you’re wondering, Ken’s is a Nova, Neils is a Chevelle, and Tom’s is a Camaro.  3 cars I’m sure everybody would love to have in their original state.

Third: Ken Van Allen turned to the modified division after success in the street stock Expert division at the young age of 42.  In this photo, though a little blurry, it has Ken out front in his #711, ahead of from outside to inside, Billy Ellis in the #75, Pete Corey Jr in the #3, and an unidentified #76 car.  And no,  it’s definitely not Chamberlain.

Fourth: I didn’t get the info I needed on this picture, I am told it was ken Van Allen.  Not sure if Sr.?  I also notice glass in the windshield if I’m not mistaken, so this may have been an asphalt car.
