The Back Story:

The Barnes Bros. racing team out of Lanesboro MA was as a family operation as Family racing operations go.  With their Dad Gene turning the wrenches on the boys cars all week, the team consisted of Jason and younger Brother Karl, pictured here in his neat looking #307.  Karl ran, and was competitive, in the big fields the medium block field produced each week, securing a few wins along the way.  This particular car was built, chassis, frame, engine and all at Northeastern Racing Supply by family friend Russ Blake.

When Karl decided to stop running the oval, it didn’t mean He stopped competing at Lebanon Valley, among various places.  Karl turned his passion to building and racing tough trucks, the class that often competes at shows with Monster Trucks, becoming a fan favorite up and down the east Coast with a never die attitude as shown in this clip.

Karl still currently resides in Lanesboro MA with his longtime squeeze Nikki and has worked at Unistress in Pittsfield for nearly 20 years.
