The Back Story:
“Jim Rajczi was one of, if not the first to
jump on board with the "New Bodies" for Dirt Modifieds. He created
this sharp looking "Olds Firenza GT" that actually looked like the
real thing as much as any modified could. Unfortunately, this car fell with
all the others in 1987 and he soon reverted back to the traditional body”. Andy Skumin. Jim’s started at LV in the late 70’s Spectator
division with a typical 4 door boat of a car that was common among
competitors back then. Jim quickly
realized equipment was everything in racing, and debuted a super sleek, and
fast, ’75 era Camaro and began kicking ass.
Progressing up to the 320 division, Jim purchased a former Ron Van
Etten (?) car and competed with that until quickly realizing equipment was
everything in racing and purchased a brand new troyer chassised car, a rarity
for that division back then. With success
in the 320 division, Jim took the next logical step, and with his always
perfectly manicured Gross Graphics #9’s, took to the Modified division with
bursts of success. Jim left the
racing scene for a while and later returned in the IMCA division and still
runs his Body Shop out of Hyde Park NY to this day www.autobodydutchesscounty.com
