The Back Story:

Chuck Irving from New Baltimore N.Y.

Pictures from 1959.  One of the many drivers ( Garrison, WesterveltVan Steenburg, Ken Goodermote, Sayles Casey, to name a few) who made the switch  from asphalt to dirt when Uncle Lou Spanier  re-worked the track and put in the banks. Maybe Chuck is thinking he’d been better off sticking to asphalt as the picture on the bottom goes.

Note the really low fence....at least one car a night it seemed went ''out of the park''....so the saying goes.  But as the recent events of cars flying out of LV lately can attest to, sometimes the more things change, the more they stay the same.
