The Back Story:

BobTauscher came from Riverside Park to compete at the Valley, & was from Holyoke, MA.  Usually he drove a car numbered U2, a purple and white machine.  He came to the Valley way back, maybe in 1964/65. One time he wound up in St Luke’s hospital in Pittsfield when the chain binder he was using to hook up the car after the races came loose and smacked him in the mouth.

The 03 was from Agawam MA , where Riverside Park was located. The car was probably more famously driven by Maynard Forrette.  Holyoke, again, where Tauscher is from, is just north of Agawam.
